What does the ‘Trade Context is Busy’ message mean?
When trading in MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and the ‘Trade Context is Busy’ message appears, it generally means that it is trying to process at least two orders at the one time and it is unable to do so. It occurs when the platform is forced into a looping motion which ultimately causes it to lock itself up.
The typical scenarios in which this will occur include:
Placing several trades or repeat one without waiting for a previous order to process completely
One or more of your Expert Advisors (EAs) is trying to place an order without checking if the context is clear causing a build up with other EAs trying to execute commands afterwards
How do I fix and get rid of the ‘Trade Context is Busy’ message?
To resolve this issue, close and reload the platform. The MT4 should refresh and the error should go away.
If this problem occurs often, please check your Expert Advisors and any error codes that occur. You can do this by going to the ‘Experts’ tab in the Terminal.
